Hello,
I am Ramneek!
I am a female engineer, with a background in Electrical Engineering. My focus lies in product design driven by an inclusive human-centered design methodology. I believe that innovation is driven by people’s stories, backgrounds and beliefs and that design is a powerful tool that enables everyone to thrive in the world.
My Story
Being registered visually impaired I face a number of challenges on a daily basis, which provide me with unique perspectives that this community of people face. These experiences and insights drive my inclusive engineering practice and provide me with a unique lens through which to tackle the toughest of problems.
One of my biggest achievements to date is winning the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition 2022, in which I designed MyVision, a modern-day technology enabled white cane for the blind and partially sighted people. The credibility and accolades afforded to me through this competition confirmed the innovative and paradigm-shifting nature of my solutions to real-world problems. I was further invited to be a part of CNN’s and Samsung’s ‘Generation Change’ campaign and was recognised for my design work in this space by being nominated and shortlisted for the TechWomen100 ‘Rising Star’ awards 2022.
